Sergio Ramos García , known as Sergio Ramos , born March 30, 1986 in Camas
(Spain), is a Spanish international footballer who plays as a central defender for
Sevilla FC. He is considered one of the best players in Spanish football, if not of all
time, for his defensive qualities, his leadership and his record.
Originally from Seville, he made his professional debut in the Andalusian club before
signing in 2005 for Real Madrid. With the Merengue, he won numerous trophies
including five championships and four Champions Leagues over the course of sixteen
seasons. He even became the club's captain in 2015 after the departure of Iker Casillas
and played a major role in winning four European titles, being named in the
competition's standard team each time. He scored the decisive equalizer in the last
minute in the 2014 Champions League final and scored again two years later in the
final.
In 2021, he left Real Madrid and signed for Paris-Saint-Germain where his time was
mixed despite winning two Ligue 1s. Two years later, he returned to his training club
Sevilla FC, at the age of 37.
This goal allows him to reach the hundred goals mark in his career, 80 goals with Real
Madrid
, 17 for the Spanish team and three for Sevilla FC, a notable performance for a defender
